MENTORING OPPORTUNITIES What is Where is JCS? What is a
mentor? Mentors are
adult volunteers who can play a supportive role in the development of
students. As part of the school’s aggressive approach to provide optimal
growth opportunities for its students, the school strives to match each
student with a positive adult role model. Who can mentor? Any interested
adult who successfully completes the application and police background
check. What is the time
commitment? We ask that you
have contact with your mentee at least every other week, but ideally
once a week. Mentors may
come on any school day, during regular school hours.
We do not encourage or approve of off-campus contact. Do I have to
tutor? Tutoring is not part of the mentoring process. What is the
application process? The application
process consists of two forms. One supplies personal contact
information; the other authorizes a police background check. How can I
